On to a new adventure....

It's summer break (wooooo-hooooo)!  I haven't even been out of school a week, and I am already blogging, printing, and configuring next year.  I moved up to second grade, and I am really excited.  I have decided to change my room as a whole and go with a different/simpler theme.  My room is also smaller and a different shape, so I am changing the look of everything.  I am excited about my new adventure.  I had a wonderful first year teaching, and I have my kiddos to thank for that.  I will miss them dearly over the summer, but I will see them in August.  Here are a few pictures of the last week of school.  See you in second grade!

We are officially second graders!

Field day fun....I won!

Look at all our ribbons!

Goodbye first grade!

December...Christmas, Crafts and Parties

We had a Polar Express party because our behavior jar was full.  We read the Polar Express, watched the movie, boarded our pretend train with our tickets, had hot chocolate and cookies.  We even had a special delivery from the North Pole.  It was cold when it arrived and inside were bells for each student, with their name and a special message.  All this made for a fun morning.

For our Christmas party we had a yummy breakfast and watched The Grinch.

We attended a sing-a-long.

We made ornaments.

And we opened some awesome books.

December....brought Sparkle the Elf.

She came from the North Pole.

Here are the students with her after we met her.

She brought us donuts for our Christmas party.

Sparkle moved every night.  She would visit the North Pole and tell Santa how the kids were acting.  She would return to a new spot every morning.  One morning she was taking a marshmallow bath, she hung from lights and got caught in many places.  The students enjoyed searching for her every morning.

In November we went on a field trip to the Portland Public Library and the Nashville Children's Theater.  I had forgotten to post these sooner.

At the library participating in "There was an Old Lady".

We saw "Your a Good Man Charlie Brown".

Getting ready for the play.
